La Philips (il nome completo è Koninklijke Philips N.V.) is a Dutch multinational company headquartered in Amsterdam. Samsung Group (in Hangul: 삼성그룹; in Hanja: 三星그룹; Korean pronunciation: /sʰamsʰʌŋ ɡɯɾup/, stylised as SΛMSUNG) is a South Korean company with subsidiaries in 58 countries. Samsung is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Android smartphones and tablets, as well as many other devices (smartwatches, TVs, PC components, home appliances, accessories, etc.).

For the more curious, its name is composed of two words, “Sam” and “Sung”, meaning “Three” and “Stars” respectively: in fact, the original logo featured three stars which, in Hanja symbolism (Korean logographic writing), represent something great, numerous, powerful and eternal.

Founded in Taegu, South Korea, in 1938, the company did not originally operate in the electronics sector: the real turning point came only in the 1980s, with the advent of information technology. Over the years, Samsung has grown and progressively become the giant we all know today, producing Android smartphones, tablets and much more.

Brother was founded in Nagoya in 1908 under the name Yasui Sewing Machine Co., initially producing only sewing machines. In 1954, the first overseas subsidiary, Brother International Corporation, was established in the United States. In 1958, a European sales company was founded in Dublin.

The company adopted its current name, Brother Industries Ltd., in 1962. Brother entered the printer market through a collaboration with Centronics. In 1968, the company moved its headquarters to Audenshaw, Manchester, in the United Kingdom, after acquiring the historic British sewing machine manufacturer Jones Sewing Machine Company.

In 1985, Brother opened a factory in Wrexham, following the opening of another production facility in Taiwan. By the late 1980s, the company had entered the laser printer and fax markets. In December 2011, Brother diversified its activities by acquiring Nefsis, an innovative web-based collaboration and remote conferencing software company.

In November 2012, Brother announced that it had produced the last typewriter made in the United Kingdom at its factory in North Wales; this final machine was donated to the Science Museum in London. Brother was a sponsor of Manchester City from 1989 to 1999.

Jabra is a Danish brand specialising in audio equipment and, more recently, video conferencing systems. It is owned by GN Audio, which is part of the Danish company GN Group. Jabra designs, manufactures and markets wireless, true wireless and wired headsets for consumers and business customers. Jabra Corporation was acquired by GN Audio in 2000.

In September 2000, Jabra Corporation was acquired by GN Audio, a division of the Danish company GN Group, founded by C.F. Tietgen in 1869 as the Great Northern Telegraph Company.

In 2006, GN consolidated its Contact Center and Office headset divisions under the Jabra brand. This was followed by a restructuring in 2008, which led to the creation of two divisions within Jabra, later named Enterprise and Consumer. This reorganisation enabled a stronger focus on the business-to-business and consumer markets respectively.

At the beginning of 2019, GN Audio acquired Altia Systems to expand its portfolio with video conferencing products, at a reported cost of USD 125 million. Later that year, the first video product resulting from the acquisition was announced: Jabra PanaCast.
